I haven't been posting a lot of art in the past.. what, six months?

I missed the old days, where I would DRAW for fun. I went through a phase where I would sit and talk to friends while scrolling through my favorite social networking sites again and again and again, constantly checking for messages, and nothing else.

Sure, I still drew. In Art class, yeah. Occasionally at home, sure.

But it wasn't fun anymore.


So, just recently, like a few days ago, livestreamed. A week ago, she had livestreamed, and a good friend of mine, , texted me to inform me of this happening. Unfortunately, I was in hawaii, at a movie, and was unable to see this wonderful thing.

Then a few days ago, I checked my messages and =yumedust had posted a journal, and a link in the journal. She was livestreaming again!

For those who don't know, I found =yumedust about three years ago and have been idolizing/looking up to her ever since.

Anyway.
In the livestream, I got to witness my hero painting away, while she kindly answered questions. (I'm proud to say that I was fangirling like mad.) Some of my favorite questions I, or my fellow chatmates had asked her were: "What do you do to keep artistically 'sharp'?" Response: "I just draw every day, I do a lot of still lifes and studies. I'm constantly painting."
"Do you ever get tired of painting?"
Response: "Of painting? No, but I'll get a little tired of working on the same painting for a long time. I'll either take a break, or work on a different painting."
"How long do you paint out of the day?"
Response: "Oh, I don't know.. a lot? I just love drawing so much, I can't stop!"

The combined elements of one of my favorite deviantART artists communicating with me, watching her painting in action, being reminded of what will keep me in good shape as an artist, and being reminded that I should be enjoying what I do to say the least got me very inspired. I've been drawing daily since then, and I even brought a mini sketchbook out to work at a fireworks stand today, and drew a few people.

So. What I'm getting at is: I'M BACK IN BUSINESS. Yeah. I'm loving drawing again, and I'm going to make SERIOUS PROGRESS.


Also, would anyone be interested in me doing livestreams? Like.. watching me draw/paint live, me answering questions/taking critique, etc? I tried it out today with the lovely watching off and on... which is pretty awesome.

WHATS NEW WITH ALL YOU FOLKS? 8D

Not many of you know a lot about my life. Let me explain briefly before I get to the punchline.

My dad was married to my mother for about 3 years. He left before I was born, and got hitched with my pure evil step mother, Cindy, and had two kids with her. My two half brothers. One is one year younger than me, the other two years. During this five-year marriage, Cindy was diagnosed with some kind of cancer. Cindy then left Dad for her last husband that she previously divorced. At this time, I was about 5. Dad then married my annoying step-mother, Kris, when I was almost 7. About three years ago, Dad and my step-mother and my two step-brothers moved to Hawaii, thus why my brother and I fly to Hawaii every summer.

Now that my life-story is summed up.. some explaining to do.

Dad has this funny habit of acting differently around different people. For example, around Cindy he would act very strict because Cindy was made of hot sauce and scorpions. (the key components of evil) Around my older step-brother he would act strict and mean because he kind of hated my older step-brother. And around kris, he acted different. Mushy and annoying, and not cool like he really is.

So sometime last year, Cindy passed away from cancer, so Dad inherited my half brothers.

Here comes the real story.


My half-brother who's one year younger than me(we'll call him the older one) called on the house phone. Strangely, his voice was very deep and he was actually somewhat socially ept. I hadn't seen him in maybe 5 years, or the younger half brother, and that's back when they were very annoying. We talked some time about school and such, like distant relatives do. Then.. he announced, "Dad and kris split up."
"What?!" I exclaimed, dumbstruck.
"Yeah, the divorce papers are on the table."
"Well.. wow, really? Why?"
Before I go on, Steven is the youngest step-brother.
"Well, every time Steven got in trouble or did something wrong, which was a lot, kris would blame it on me, so I told Dad and showed him evidence and he got mad."

Later on, Josh got on the phone and I left, and him and the older half-brother talked. Then, apparently my brother gave the phone to my dad, and josh and him just talked for a while about relationship stuff.

So, josh came into my room some time later, and we talked about it.. And apparently, Dad revealed that Kris had been cheating on him as well.


So, as for the punchline:
No more Kris. No more annoying younger step-brother. No more inept older step-brother. All it's going to be in Hawaii is my older brother, my younger half-brother who seems very socially ept, as well as my even younger half-brother who I expect to be ept, and Dad. Since my half brothers are 13 and 14, none of the annoying younger brother kind of thing will take place. Dad will be himself again, and it's not going to be an 8-person family.

Gosh. I think that visiting dad is going to be fun again.

I figure that since I'm already going to be staying up late doing homework(stupid graduation and stupid english class), I should do this meme because it seems interesting. I may have done it before. Ah well.

Yes.

Some, as long as it's not stupid. Life wouldn't be very interesting if everyone was pleasant all the time, right? On that same note, I feel that a friendship is stronger once you've overcome a problem together.

I care about/enjoy fashion; personality wise, no.

A senior at grad.

Small or big purses?
Big. I have too much crap for tiny purses. D: *needs to make a big purse*

Do you think you’re conceited?
I'm too self-conscious for that.

Yeah. I might not this year, unless my friends decide to do something.

Where is the weirdest place you have slept?
I was on my bed while my mom was sorting through lots of boxes, so I kind of crumpled into a ball and put blankets over me while boxes surrounded me. Haha. Besides that? Trampoline, maybe.

Has anyone touched/smacked your butt?
Oh gosh, yes. I hate it.

Last person who walked you somewhere?
I was following someone in band to the busses.

Do you call anybody by their last name?
Teachers. Math and band teachers, to be specific.

Do you wear makeup?
Yes indeedy!

Ever cried at a movie theater?
I don't think I have, though I HAVE cried during a movie at home.

Urgh yes. 6th grade. I guess I was more pessimistic than I thought, because one of my friend's parents hated me... She's better now, whenever I see her.

Pants. I can sit in more comfortable positions and I just feel very naked when wearing a skirt.

Honestly, the perfectly flawless straight hair look has been getting very old. I'm starting to think that the more natural you look, the prettier you look. Guys? Do you feel the same way?

White, although I have one just like it that's beige/tan.

I honestly don't mind either way, as long as the hair color compliments that particular face/skintone.

Uhh.. There's a new socially inept guy who's crushing on me(I can tell) and likes to follow me around. It's very annoying.

It's hard for me to emotionally relate to someone who's constantly cracking jokes. It's weird. I feel kind of intimidated by them, like they'll just make a joke out of anything I say and I'd much rather like to be able to actually talk to someone.

Just got off the phone with my mom.
Her student loan payments are going to be $600 a month. $600. That's one-third of her monthly paycheck.

So no more anything for me. We have to sacrifice anything fun, any fast foods, and seriously conserve what we have. I might have to start babysitting or something.

So I need to finish up the gaia commissions I have,or those who have already paid, then cancel the rest and maybe set up real commissions. They'll probably have to be a little expensive(I'm talking, over $20. Pretty cheap compared to other artists.), but only because home life is going to get really hard.

I'm probably going to post up an information journal once I set up a paypal account or something(I need to get to the bank and make a debit card..), but the pay will be a general idea of what I'm expecting. Price will definitely change with how complicated your character is, how detailed, and overall how much effort I put into it. Ah, and which style I'm drawing in. An anime, more simplistic piece will cost less than more stylized realism(my usual style), which will cost less than fullblown, detailed, as-realistic-as-I-can-get piece. Get it?

Hopefully with some kind of a summer job and commissions combined, I'll have some spending money and things will be better. Right now I'm trying to keep my head high and think happy thoughts. It's not the end of the world, but.. it's definitely a downer, and it definitely makes me realize the other problems going on in my life as well.

*sigh*.. my family is so dysfunctional..

I apologize for the lack of deviations, I HAVE been drawing and painting I've just been forgetful with pictures and such. Wish me luck, I hope my home life gets better. @_@ At least my family is supportive.
