it feels like summer today.

and it's warm, even though it's raining. (probably has to do with the thermostat.. lol whatever)

I've been dealing with some things lately... my family just recently ran out of food, so I was pretty hungry for a few days.. thankfully we had the money to go out shopping yesterday, and I bought REAL, HEALTHY foods. My brother has a thing for those frozen foods, but I hate them. They're okay once in a while, but they really taste like plastic, and probably have the nutritional value of plastic as well. Eww.
I bought fruits and vegetables and eggs and anything else you can think of. As soon as my grandma teaches me how to cook eggs, I'll be making those as well. c:

So anyway, I've been working on a portrait of my dear friend , but every night I would just walk over to my grandma's house to eat something and cook with her, so I haven't really been drawing nonstop. I'm about HALFWAY done.(would anyone care to see a progress shot? @_@)

In other news, I'll be drawing as much as I can today on that portrait, but at 2 I'm getting a haircut and right afterwards, I'll be going to 's place. We'll paint together and be AMAZING. (expect me around 3, nyx darling)

Hmm.. is there anything else to report?... There's a parade four parades that I'll be marching in this saturday(go band!), and... uh.. oh! spring breeeak! yeah! c: I'll be drawing as much as I can! I promise.

I don't think there's anything else to report. lol I only wrote this because I got up at 7am and you tards are too silly to get up before 12... whatever. XD

Just wanted to check in with you again.

Life is on a much more positive note! I'm well again, and while we're still tight on money, I'm in a superb mood.
Ohh! Speaking of, my mom was extraordinarily kind and renewed my deviantART subscription. I didn't want to spend her money, but she was so sweet about it. She told me she knew how much deviantart means to me, and that if she was at all hesitant, she'd tell me. ;w;

School is MUCH less stressful. The ongoing project we had in english class was really easy(10-30 mins a night), and I have some time to draw every night. In band, we've been moving to much simpler things. A parade is coming up, so all we're doing in there is working on our parade tune(for all you non-banders: parade tunes are MUCH simpler than concert pieces because they've gotta be easy enough to memorize C: )

I've got a list of drawings I'd like to do, and things are just back to the way they should be: stress coming from the amount of drawing I'm doing or would like to be doing, and not from school or other negative stressors. 8D I have abouuut four pieces I'd like to draw/paint. Oh! And the spring fair is back again! I don't know if any of you remember this, but in 2007, I submitted a few things to the fair, and got one back as 1st place, best in category, and one third place. Well, if all goes well, I'm going to submit more this year! I'm currently drawing , and after I'm done with that, if there's time, I'd like to finish one of my computer pieces to submit as well.

I don't think there's anything significant to announce other than that.

As for life events.. This weekend is going to be more awesome than probably any of your minds can comprehend. Hopefully staying the night at 's house, then we're going to videogame the whole place up into a swirly mess of pictochat pixels, and we'll be doing other videogames and probably some Gaia stuff too. C:

Also, over spring break I'm hopefully going over to 's house and bringing a large wood canvas, oil paints, brushes, aprons, and anything else we can think of. There, we'll put our artistic minds to work and spew out ideas, and paint together and make an AMAZING collaboration. 8D

I'm so excitedd~ Although I may have to go out and buy tempra paints for an art project that I am waay behind in. DX Quarter ends soon! aahhh!

I swear, every time I say I'll have more free time to draw, something else comes up.


So for the past week I've been really sick, and it got at its worst yesterday and today. I've basially been lying in bed all day either sleeping or playing pokemons.

Besides that, we're working on an art project (we're doing enlargement) and I had to go off and pick this incredibly detailed and complicated object compared to everyone else ;_;
And I swear. Every time I think classes are going to get easier, my english teacher thinks it's a good idea to pile two or three more ongoing projects on us.

I HATE ongoing projects.
ongoing projects are the devil's accomplice. You need to plan ahead and do daily work every night. I just want to learn grammar, man, I don't need any of these novel assignments or speeches asdfsdf

There is good news, though: We're not busy in band. I thought we were done last week, but apparently we had to keep working with our concert pieces for an upcoming competition-- which was today! So, now, we'll be working on marching technique in that class, which means no practicing for me. c:

And I can.

The secret is to simply put forth a little bit more effort than I am now.
That means just a little bit more painting, a little more planning out, and a little more perfectionism on my part.

Anyway.
I'm going to draw. Right now. I opened OpenCanvas and I'm about to get all artsy as soon as I find some more inspiration. A big project just came to end in English class, as well as our concert being over in band, which means less speech preparing and less practicing. Which means more drawing time. C:

I just got through arguing with my cat, so it's going to take some time to muster up some more will to draw again. But I will. I promise. 8D

EDIT: My cat and I have made up. He cuddled with me and made this cute squeaky sound, and I'm making great progress with the drawing.

Just thought I'd give you all an update on life since I post journals more frequently than worthwhile artwork. Haaaa. 8D

It seems that reality has decided to be cruel and awful and take me away from my precious drawing time. I've been taking my clarinet home every night to practice for this upcoming concert for a few months--and the concert was last night! yayy! We sounded great; Sohma even recorded the whole concert for me with her camera. It was a sound recording, though. With a camera.

Anyway.. Along with that, we've been working on a pretty big assignment in english class for a few weeks now, which means hours of homework on my part.. I've a 2 minute speech I need to give on Friday..though, the kids in that class don't understand the concept of time, so we had to push a few kids who were supposed to give their speech today down to tomorrow. And there happens to be some kind of health requirement tomorrow, which will take most of our english period out. So I'm probably gonna give it on monday or something.

I'm actually kind of excited to give it; a lot of the kids in that class suck at speechgiving, so deep down in the little sparkly rainbow center of my heart, I got the urge to give the best speech in the class. LOL, some kid gave a 6 minute long speech. Filled with all this irrelevant information. asdffd.
It's crazy what kinds of reactions stagefright can give different people. One girl was standing up there, voice shaking, teary, and almost hyperventilating.

Anyway...Once this cruel and awful project is over, I should have more free time.
Speaking of which, we have this really crappy student teacher replacing our main math teacher for a few months; she takes too many questions and gets too distracted. Basically, all the stupid-ass comments that freshman give during class.. yknow, the smartass trying-to-be-funny ones? She actually listens to those comments and replies to them. So where we used to have half an hour or more time for homework in class, we now have five minutes. It's quite a bother, really.

Oh! I actually HAVE drawn a few things. Most of them are WIPs(sohma, you and I need to finish our art challenge and show each other.) and some of them are things I drew in art class. I'll upload a few good pieces. I also have a few more photography pieces. I might upload them over the weekend because I have a lot of homework orz"

As for life plans and stuff.. There happens to be a dance this friday. I think I've mentioned it before: bright clothes from different eras. I have to try on my poofy skirt again because I'm afraid it might be too short ;_;

I got new shoes because converse allstars, I'm afraid, are no good for flat feet.


I think that just about covers it for me... How's everyone else?
